COOS BAY — The Coos County Board of Realtors doubled its investment in students at Southwestern Oregon Community College with a gift this month to a scholarship endowment fund.
The Realtors have committed to building up their permanent endowment fund from $2,500 to at least $10,000 over four years. With the latest gift of $2,500 and a previous donation of $1,000 from an anonymous member of the organization, the real estate group is more than halfway to the goal.
“Coos County Realtors have a mission of supporting education and creating and maintaining sustainable communities,” said Brooke Yussim, president of the Coos County Board of Realtors. “Through scholarships, we can increase people’s ability to go to college and improve job training. It is the most effective way to keep our towns thriving.”
